SPRINGFIELD – Doris Jean Criminger, 71, of Springfield passed from this life into the House of the Lord on August 26, 2010 at Memorial Medical Center, surrounded by her loving husband and three children. She was born on November 12, 1938 in South Chicago, Illinois to Clifford and Fern Adams Williams. She married George L. Criminger on September 6, 1980.
She leaves behind to mourn her husband of 30 years, George Criminger of Springfield, her 3 children by her former husband, Gene Grigiski, Monica (Frank) Daniels of Riverton, Marlene (Bill) Umbach of Petersburg and Mark Grigiski (Lisa Meyers) of Riverton, 7 grandchildren Charlie, Adam, Allison, Michael, Morgan, Ingrid and Ava; 3 great grandchildren; sister Deanna (Stan) Pierce of Princeton; brothers Dean (Barbara) Williams of Riverton and Donn Lee (Linda) Williams of Springfield and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents; an infant son Michael and brother David Williams.
She attended Rochester Christian Church and enjoyed traveling and gardening. Doris was a secretary to Illinois Attorney Generals William Clark and William Scott. She also worked for the General Assembly in the Minority Leader’s office before retiring.
A funeral service will be held at 3 pm on Sunday, August 29, 2010 at Staab Funeral Home with Charlie Carver officiating followed by visitation until 6 p.m. Private Burial will be held at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
