Doris E. Padget of Springfield, died peacefully on Saturday, August 26, 2017, at Memorial Medical Center.

She was born January 26, 1927 in Springfield, the daughter of Joseph J. and Kathryn L. Biderbost Shea. She married Robert W. Padget in September of 1946 at St. Agnes Church by Monsignor Guisti.

Mrs. Padget graduated from Springfield High School. She retired from the Internal Revenue Service in 1978 after 23 years of service. She was co-owner of Capital City Fire Extinguisher Service until 1988. She was a member of St. Agnes Church, St. Agnes Altar Society, St. Louise de Marillac Guild, NALC Auxiliary, Lucky Ladies Investment Club, and the Out to Lunch Bunch.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert, and her brother, Joseph Shea. She is survived by two daughters, Maurya (husband Virgil) Beckum and Amy (husband, John) McNear of Springfield, one son, Bryan (wife, Cathryn) of Springfield; five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation: 4:00 – 7:00 pm, Wednesday, August 30, 2017, at Staab Funeral Home-Springfield. A prayer service will be held at 4:00 pm.

Funeral Mass: 11:00 am, Thursday, August 31, 2017, at St. Agnes Church with Reverend Robert Jallas officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Agnes Church.
