SPRINGFIELD – Dorathea M. Lee, 73, of Springfield died at 2:55 a.m. Saturday, May 16, 2009, at St. John’s Hospice.
She was born Nov. 6, 1935, in Springfield, the daughter of William C. and Mabel Hickman Crammond. She married Richard Lee on Dec. 8, 1951; he preceded her in death on Oct. 15, 1972.
She also was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Richard Lee Jr.; and a granddaughter, Andrea Mulkins.
She is survived by four daughters, Vickie L. (Danny) Bounds of Springfield, Lanora J. (Robert) Comer of Indiana, Dody Deville of Springfield and Sharon K. Mulkins of Riverton; a son, Robert E. (Maria) Lee of Indiana; 15 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Adeline (Clarence) Spencer of Springfield, Margaret Ray of Athens and Jacqueline (Richard) McCain of Indiana; a brother, William (Cathy) Crammond of Illinois; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was a lifelong resident of Springfield.
She was a nursing assistant at St. John’s Hospital for 27 years.
She was a member of Pasfield Southern Baptist Church, St. John’s Hospital Retirees and the Red Hat Society.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, May 18, 2009, at Staab Funeral Home. The body will lie in state from noon until the time of funeral services at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 19, 2009, at Pasfield Southern Baptist Church, with the Rev. Delbert Penrod officiating. Burial will be at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or Pasfield Southern Baptist Church.
