Donna J. Ferguson, 77, of Springfield, died at 5:00 pm, Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at Memorial Medical Center. She was born January 26, 1936 in Springfield to Merval P. and Cornelia Kramp Smith.
Survivors include four daughters, Robin (Brian) McKibben and Kathy (Mike) Moreland both of Springfield, Linda (Tim) Hulett of Shreveport, LA and Karen Kirk of Chatham; one son, Edward (Karen) Ferguson of Bloomington; one daughter-in-law, Cindy Ferguson of Springfield; fourteen grandchildren, Cari, Doug, Craig, Angie, Tug, Alan, Krysten, Joe, Kyle, Billy, Andrew, Jacob, Jeff and Daniel; ten great grandchildren with one on the way; one sister, Carolyn McConnell of Arizona and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband and the father of her children, Gerald W. Ferguson, Sr.; one son, Gerald Ferguson, Jr.; one grandson, Samuel Hulett; 2nd husband, Delmar Blakeman and two brothers, Jere and Gary Smith.
Donna was a devoted member of Calvary Temple Christian Center. She volunteered at Memorial Hospital Surgical Unit and was a member of Grasshoppers Golf League and Ladies Bridge Group. She was a former member of Eagles Club, Elks Club and Ski-Club. She was very active in her family and grandchildren’s lives. Along with her husband she owned and operated Angelo’s Pizza.
Visitation: 4-7 pm, Friday, March 1, 2013 at Calvary Temple Christian Center.
Funeral Service: 10 am, Saturday, March 2, 2013 at Calvary Temple Christian Center with Pastor Mark Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Old Salem Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Calvary Temple Christian Center or to Central Illinois Blood Bank.
