Donald L. Boyd, 87, of Salisbury, died at 8:25 pm, Tuesday, November 8, 2016 at Memorial Medical Center. He was born February 27, 1929, in Virden, to William and Elsie Schrock Boyd. He married Mary Jo Williams on May 25, 1990, and she survives.
Also surviving are three children, William L. Boyd of Virden, Donna M. (Dale) Proefrock of Virden and Jacalyn (Tom) Butler of Salisbury; five grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; three sisters, Nan Micklus and Carol Cacciatori both of Virden and Bobbie Berola of Auburn and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Warren K. Boyd; three brothers, William, Melvin and Colin Boyd; two sisters, Geraldine Rosato and Barbara Gazda.
Donald retired from Fiat-Allis after 35 ½ years of service. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran serving during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Masonic Lodge #700 and ANSAR Shrine. He enjoyed gardening and working on old Chevrolets. He was a die-hard Cubs fan and loved birds, especially purple martins.

Memorial Service: 11 am Friday, November 11, 2016 at Staab Funeral Home-Springfield with Pastor Nathaniel Kern officiating. Burial will follow at Virden Cemetery.
