Donald H. Moss, 85, of Springfield, died at 9:18 am, Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at Memorial Medical Center. He was born October 25, 1929 in Evanston, IL, to Herbert Joseph and Henrietta Eleanor Bond Moos. He married Naydene Earhart on June 15, 2013.
He is survived by his wife and the love of his life, Naydene; a brother, Chuck (Liz); his children, Susan Moss, Kate Glinsmann, Jennifer Moss, Mallory (Jason) Katz, Molly Moss, Kent (Nikki) Renken, Kraig (Diana) Renken and Kimberly (Scott) Entwistle; grandchildren, Ike (Bethany), Peter, Miranda and Veronica.
Donald was a member the ETHS Class of 1947.
After honorable discharge, as a Corporal, from the US Army, Don got his BA and MA in Psychology from Roosevelt University. He worked for several human service organization, including the Chicago urban League, Jewish Vocational Services, and United Cerebral Palsy. In 1962, he joined ARC Illinois and served as Executive Director for twenty-seven years. In 1990, Don established his own governmental relations and consulting firm, Don Moss & Associates, which operates statewide out of Springfield.
Don was honored by the President’s Committee on Mental Retardation, the Illinois Senate and House of Representatives, the Illinois Attorney General and the US Department of Health and Human Services for exemplary service to persons with disabilities.

I am sorry to hear about Don. I have so many great memories of him and your whole family back in the day. He was so much fun, from swimming in "lake muddy bottem" to going to the Illinois State Fair in the summertime. My prayers go out to the family.
