Donald “Don” W. Wilson, 66, of Springfield, died at 4:30 pm, Wednesday, December 11, 2013 at St. John’s Hospice. He was born March 4, 1947 in Springfield, to John T. and Myrtle Hayse Wilson. He married Marilyn Esslinger on January 18, 1965 and she preceded him in death on October 25, 2008.
He is survived by one daughter Cathy (Gregg) Formigoni of Springfield; one son, Ron (Staci) Wilson of Springfield; five grandchildren, Lauren, Allison, Morgan, Whitney and Zachary; one sister, Velma (Don) Claypool of New Berlin; four brothers, Albert (Frances) Wilson of Williamsville, Tom (Diane) Wilson of New Berlin, Bill (Marty) Wilson of Riverton and Bob (Theresa) Wilson of Sherman and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one infant sister; two half-brothers and one half-sister.
He was a member of South Side Christian Church; Aqua Sports Club and Elks lodge. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, bowling and wintering in Florida.
Don retired from Ameren-CIPS after twenty-five years where he worked in electrical maintenance.
Visitation: 5-7 pm, Monday, December 16, 2013 at Staab Funeral Home.
Funeral Service: 10 am, Tuesday, December 17, 2013, at Staab Funeral Home with Pastor Adam Lanter officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
