LAKEVILLE, Minn. – Donald A. Wood, 80, of Lakeville died at 1:30 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 9, 2007, at his home.
He was born June 11, 1927, in Erie, Pa., the son of Albert and Mabel Followell Wood. He married Grace Pruess; she preceded him in death. His parents; four brothers, Roger, Dwight, Roland and Paul Wood; and sister, Judy Wood.
Mr. Wood retired as a HVAC repairman and sheet metal worker. He was a member of the Corinthian Lodge in Lakeville, where he served as past master, Commandery, No Name Shrine Club in Lakeville and Zuhrah Shrine in Minneapolis. He was an avid fisherman and boater and also enjoyed gardening.
Surviving are his sister, Rosemary Peters of Springfield; three brothers, Lewis Tony (wife, Esther) Wood of Minneapolis, Robert B. Woody (wife, Barbara) Wood and Samuel E. (wife, Beth) Wood, both of Springfield; aunt, Endora Mabre of Champaign; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial gathering will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 15, 2007, at Staab Funeral Home, with a memorial service at 4 p.m.
Family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Wood Memorial fund, in care of Robert Wood.
