Dolores L. Mauk, 84, of Girard, formerly of Springfield, died at 1:35 am, Wednesday, January 25, 2012. She was born December 27, 1927 in Detroit, MI to Joseph and Dollie Defrates Caprance. She was raised by Dollie and Joe Graus (step-father). She married Lee Mauk and they later divorced.
She is survived by two sons, Richard Lee (Molly) Mauk and Michael Joseph (Laura) Mauk both of Girard; four granddaughters, Lori Ann, Brandi, Camille and Joi; one grandson Randy; eight great grandchildren, Randa, Chase, Andrea, Dallas, Christopher, Leah, Vincent and Natalie; one sister Judith (Jim) Vitton of Chatham; two nieces, Robin (Gary) Estes and Pennie Milo; one great nephew, Zachary Estes and numerous cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; ex-husband, Lee; long time companion of forty years, Donald Beihl; niece, Michelle Welch and great granddaughter, Paiton Wilson.
Dolores worked for Sangamo Electric then owned and operated three bars in Springfield, The Freeway Lounge, Dee & Lee’s Rendezvous and Dee’s Place.
Graveside Service: 11 am, Friday, February 3, 2012 at Oak Ridge Cemetery with Pastor Terry Turner officiating.
Family and friends are invited to a celebration of life for Dolores at the Aqua Club, Lake Springfield, following the graveside service.
