Diane Christine Galli, 51, of Springfield, passed away on Friday, June 1, 2018, at home with her family at her side. She fought a courageous battle against breast cancer, which metastasized to the bones, for 5 years.
Diane was born August 26, 1966, in Springfield to Dean and Barbara (Margaron) Galli.
She is survived by her parents, Dean and Barbara Galli; sister, Elaine Galli; brother-in-law, Sean Brown; companion, Michael Arin Skilbeck; uncle, Philip Galli and several cousins.
She attended Southeast High School, Lincoln Land Community College and Santa Monica, CA College where she earned a degree in medical transcribing. She resided there for several years. She loved California. She worked at Memorial Hospital in Medical Transcribing and various clerical positions at temporary agency.
She loved books, poetry and was an excellent cook and had a place in her heart for all animals.
She will be greatly missed by her family.
Visitation: 9:30 – 11:00 am Friday, June 8, 2018 at Blessed Sacrament Church.
Funeral Mass: 11:00 am, Friday, June 8, 2018 at Blessed Sacrament Church with Reverend Jeff Grant officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or Breast Cancer Research.
The family would like to thank the nurses of Alterna Care, especially Carlene, Jennifer and Chrysan for the wonderful care given to Diane.
