Dennis “Denny” S. Bozarth, 72, of Springfield passed away at 4:58 pm, Saturday, July 16, 2016 at his home surrounded by family. He was born on December 11, 1943 in Springfield and became the son of Clayborne and Edith (Bell) Bozarth at the age of 6 months, after the death of his birth mother, Gladys Mattingly Ewing. His parents, Clay and Edith, also preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife, Glenna (Fields) Bozarth; one son, Christopher Bozarth of Springfield; four daughters: Thresa Wright, Angela Nissen, Annette Lascody and Carey Richey, all of Springfield, one brother: Phillip Bozarth of Buffalo, IL; ten grandchildren: Josh, Kristen, Nicholas, Benjamin, Patrick, Travis, Zack, Breanna, Connor, and Triston; three great-grandchildren, his Thailand grandson Jemmy, and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Denny was a lifelong resident of Springfield. He was a painter for over 30 years, enjoyed woodcarving, restoring antique cars, and loved to tinker around the house and doing yardwork. He also served in the United States Navy. He was a member of Buffalo Christian Church.
Visitation: 10 am – 12 pm, Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at Staab Funeral Home in Springfield.
Funeral Service: 12:00 pm, Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at Staab Funeral Home in Springfield with Nick Sutton officiating.
Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park where military honors will be conducted.
