Dennis Denny Charles Frueh
SPRINGFIELD – Dennis Denny Charles Frueh, 59, of Springfield, died at 10:05 a.m. on Friday, November 5, 2010 at his home after a battle with cancer. He was born November 19, 1950 in Highland, IL to Charles Joseph and Geraldine LaGant Frueh. Dennis married his wife of 37 years, Patricia Branham, on May 12, 1973. Preceding him in death are several aunts, uncles and nephews and one sister-in-law.
Surviving Dennis is his wife, Pat; one daughter, Andrea Frueh of Chicago; his parents, Charles and Geraldine Frueh of Knoxville, TN; two sisters, Linda (Jon) Loney and Rochelle (Adrian) Nelson, both of Knoxville, TN; his mother and father-in-law, several brothers and sisters-in-law, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
He attended Chatham United Methodist Church. Denny was a graduate from Sangamon State University from where he received his BA and MA. He proudly served on the Illinois Math and Science Academy enrollment review committee for many years. He began his career as a rehabilitation counselor for the State of Illinois. In 1984, he began working in the college admission office of Olney Central College; he later worked for Grinnell College and in 1987 moved to the University of Illinois-Springfield admissions office. Denny will be remembered for his kindness towards others; his dry sense of humor; his love for family; his passion of automobiles and tending to his lawn.
Visitation: 4-7 p.m., Tuesday, November 9, 2010 at Staab Funeral Home.
Funeral Service: 10 a.m., Wednesday, November 10, 2010 at Staab Funeral Home with Reverend Sara Isbell officiating. Interment will follow at Rochester Cemetery.
