ROCHESTER – Debra L. M. Stout, 40, of Rochester died at 8:47 a.m. on Friday, July 9, 2010, at St. John’s Hospice.
She was born on May 18, 1970, in Belleville to Roy F. McAfee II and Kathryn L. Paul. She married Michael J. Stout on February 18, 1998.
Debra was preceded in death by her father; her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph McAfee; her grandfather, Mr. Bill Chrisman and her mother-in-law, Marjorie (Joseph) Mazzotti. She is survived by her husband; her mother; her grandmother, Rosemary Paul Wilkas; one stepdaughter, Jessica M. Stout of Carbondale; two stepsons, Gerald M. (Kim) Stout of Cedar Falls, IA and Jordan D. Stout of Taylorville; stepmother, Glenda McAfee; father-in-law, Richard Stout; one brother-in-law, Richard E. Stout of Las Vegas, NV; one sister-in-law, Rebecca Adams of Girard; 2 half brothers, David L. Brown of Louisville, KY and Michael L. (Becky) Brown of Granite City; five nieces; and two nephews. She was a resident of Springfield since 2000.
Debra was a member of First United Methodist Church in Taylorville and the VFW Post (member at large). She served in the United States Air Force from 1989-1999. She was a Labor Relations Representative for the Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Services.
A visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Monday, July 12, 2010, at Staab Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 13, 2010, at Staab Funeral Home. Pastor Ron D. Phares will be officiating. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery where the Sangamon County Interveterans Burial Detail will conduct military honors.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Best Friends Animal Society in Utah.
