David Scott Janssen, 41, formerly of Oregon, IL, died June 23, 2017. He was born on June 5, 1976 in Dixon, IL to Gary and Joan (Huyett) Janssen.
Survivors include fiancé, Angela Beckman; his children, Kiley, Connor, and Sadie Janssen and Dillon Harris, all of Springfield; parents, Gary and Joan Janssen of Dixon; one sister, Nikki (Don) Lovett of Dixon; one brother, Michael (Courtney) Janssen of Sterling; future in laws, Dawn and Gary Beckman of Springfield, Derek (Erica) Beckman of New Berlin, Andrew (Misty) Beckman of New Berlin, and Debra (Rewa) Beckman of Springfield; grandmother, Dorothy Janssen of Oregon, IL; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Everett and Doris Huyett, and Walter Janssen.
David was employed with Von Alst Operation, LLC Carpenter’s Local #270 as a carpenter for 21 years.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and was an avid outdoorsman. He especially loved being surrounded by family and friends.
Memorial Gathering: 4-7 pm, Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at Staab Funeral Home-Springfield. An Additional visitation will be held from 10-11 am, Thursday, June 29, 2017 at Berlin Christian Church.
Memorial Service: 11 am, Thursday, June 29, 2017 at Berlin Christian Church with Pastor Warren Brosi officiating. Private burial will be held at Roselawn Memorial Park.
A Celebration of David’s life will be held in Dixon, IL at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made for his Children’s Education Fund.
