BUFFALO – David Jim Allison, 40, of Buffalo died at 7:50 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2008, at St. John’s Hospice.
He was born April 26, 1968, in Springfield, the son of Stanley and Martha Stephens Allison.
He is survived by his parents, Stanley and Martha Allison of Buffalo; two sisters, Marie (husband, Alan) Smokowski of Riverton and Kathy (husband, Mark) Johnson of Walshville; several aunts and uncles; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and a great-nephew.
David was a resident of Riverton for most of his life. He was of the Christian faith.
David battled muscular dystrophy for many years before succumbing to the disease. He attended LLCC in Springfield, SIU in Carbondale and UIS in Springfield, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in political science and a bachelor’s degree in English. He was always cheerful and had a wonderful sense of humor. He enjoyed writing, especially his short stories, and listening to music. He will be greatly missed by all.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 14, 2008, at Staab Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
