David A. Bausch, Sr., 78, of Springfield died at 3:27 am Tuesday, June 11, 2013. He was born February 24, 1935 in St. Louis, MO to Elmer and Ruth Thompson Bausch. He married LulaJean Higgins November 17, 1956. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Nancy Freeman and brother Robert Bausch.
Surviving are his wife LulaJean; two daughters, Deborah (Kevin) Misner of Joplin, MO and Donna (Robert) Charlton of Springfield; one son, David Bausch, Jr. of Springfield; three grandchildren, Trista Charlton, Zachary Charlton and Christopher Misner; two sisters, Vera Knauss of Texas and Geneva (Tom) McGrew of Missouri and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
David was a member of South Side Christian Church, where he loved serving on many different committees.
David retired as vice president of Scientific Games. He had previously been employed by the State of Illinois.
The most important things in his life were his church and his family. He loved spending time with his family which included trips to Florida. Another thing he cherished was the fun times spent golfing with his friend Sam.
Visitation: 5 – 7 pm Thursday, June 13, 2013 at Staab Funeral Home.
Lie In State: 10 – 10:30 am, Friday June 14, 2013 at South Side Christian Church.
Funeral Service: 10:30 am Friday, June 14, 2013 at South Side Christian Church with Bob Green officiating. Burial will follow at Old Salem Cemetery where military honors will be conducted.
