SPRINGFIELD – Darren Duke Black, 42, of Springfield died at 1:22 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 15, 2009, at his residence.
He was born Sept. 5, 1967, in Springfield, the son of Donald and Carol Bedolli Black.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Cindy Bileck; and grandparents, Fred and Emma Bedolli and Luther and Cary Black.
He is survived by one brother, Randy (wife, Charlotte) Black of Springfield; an uncle, Fred (wife, Mary) Bedolli of Springfield; four nephews; and several cousins.
Darren was a lifelong resident of Springfield.
He graduated from Lanphier High School in 1986 where he played football and ran track. He also enjoyed fishing and bowling as well as being an avid Chicago Bears fan.
A memorial gathering will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2009, at Staab Funeral Home. Memorial services will be held at noon on Thursday, Nov. 19, 2009, at Staab Funeral Home, with the Rev. Robert Jallas officiating. Burial will be at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
