Dale Eugene Losey

Dale Eugene Losey, 84, of Springfield, formerly of Mason City, died at 4:00 am, Monday, May 9, 2016 at Capital Care. He was born December 29, 1931 in Mason City to Henry H. and Hazel E. Prather Losey. He married Ella L. Ratliff in 1951 and she preceded him in death in 1994. He then married Shirley Isaacs on August 31, 2002 and she survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Debbie (Jim) Gilman and Christina (Jerry) Nation, both of Springfield; one son, Steven Lee Losey of Phoenix, AZ; seven grandchildren, Jay (Tonya) Miller, Matt (Jennifer) Miller, Jim (Jonni) Gilman, Sarah Simmons, Andrew Losey, Megan Losey and Gregory Tucker; ten great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, two grandsons, Christopher Miller and Wyatt Nation and three sisters, Evelyn Johnson, Donna Hatcher and Judy Renner.

He was an United States Army Veteran, serving during the Korean War. Dale retired from Fiat Allis in 1985 after 34 years of service as a welder. He was a member of South Tower Community Church and VFW Post #755. He enjoyed bowling, fishing, working in his yard, mowing grass and gardening.

Visitation: 10-11 am Monday, May 16, 2016 at Staab Funeral Home.

Funeral Service: 11 am Monday, May 16, 2016 at Staab Funeral Home with Pastor Charlie Carver officiating. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery where military honors will be conducted.
