Colleen Carncross Stone, 65, of Springfield, died at 11:12 a.m. on Wednesday, March 7, 2012. She was born on January 15, 1947 in Springfield to Jack W. and Violet M. Perkins Carncross. She is preceded in death by her mother and one sister, Darleen Ahrens.
Surviving Colleen is her father, Jack W. Carncross of Springfield; one sister, Kathleen (Dewey) Yaeger of Dekalb, IL; one brother, Gordon (Elaine) Carncross of West Chicago; several nieces, nephews and cousins and several step children and step grandchildren.
She was a member of Daughters of the Nile and enjoyed making ceramics, reading and traveling. Colleen attended Williamsville Christian Church. She was employed by the State of Illinois Department of Human and Family Services.
Visitation: 4-6 p.m. Friday, March 9, 2012 at Staab Funeral Home.
Funeral Service: 11 a.m. Saturday, March 10, 2012 at Staab Funeral Home with Robert Green officiating.
Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery.
