Clifford J. Jabusch
SPRINGFIELD. Clifford J. Jabusch, 88, of Springfield, died Friday, July 27, 2007 at Memorial Medical Center.
He was born April 21, 1919 in Springfield, IL, the son of James F. and Martha Haines Jabusch. He married Marguerite J. Stone on December 20, 1941; she preceded him in death in 1984. His parents and one sister also preceded him in death.
Mr. Jabusch was a commercial telephone equipment installer for Lucent Technologies, retiring after 43 years. He was a United States Army veteran serving during World War II. He was a member of Douglas Avenue United Methodist Church, Telephone Pioneers of America, and Mel-O-Cream Dunkers Club. He was a volunteer to 2nd grade students at Black Hawk Elementary School for 14 years and Wanless Elementary School for five years. He also served as an usher at Sangamon Auditorium.
Survivors: one daughter, Lori Ann (husband, Randy) Piper of Ballwin, MO; one son, Rick Jabusch, Sr. of Chatham; three grandchildren, Rick Jabusch, Jr. and Stacey and Kelsey Piper; one great-grandson, Seth Jabusch; and several cousins.
Memorials may be made to Douglas Avenue United Methodist Church.
Visitation will be held 4:00-7:00 p.m., Monday, July 30, 2007. Lie-in-State: 10:00-10:30 a.m., Tuesday, July 31, 2007 at Douglas Avenue United Methodist Church. Services: 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, July 31, 2007 at Douglas Avenue United Methodist Church, Reverend Julia Melgreen officiating. Burial: Camp Butler National Cemetery, where Sangamon County Interveterans Burial Detail will conduct military honors. Staab Funeral Home of Service.
