Clement "Clem" Francis Lyoch

December 4, 1932 - December 18, 2020

Clement “Clem” Francis Lyoch, 88, passed away on December 18, 2020 at Memorial Medical Center. Clem was born into a large family in Mt. Olive, IL on December 4, 1932 to Andrew and Mary Sabo Lyoch. He attended Mt. Olive schools and after high school served in the US Army as an infantry sergeant from 1953-1955.

Clem married the love of his life, Marilyn Wojtkiewicz, on October 22, 1955. He began working at the Franklin Life Insurance Company, soon after marriage, and over the course of his 38-year career there held a number of positions, the final being Vice President of the Supply Department. Despite the course of the day, Clem could always be counted on for an amusing story, some good-natured kidding, and just making a person feel better for having visited with him for a couple of minutes.

Marilyn and Clem had a large garden that they meticulously cared for and amply shared from. He was an active member of Church of the Little Flower and the Springfield Elks Lodge 158. Clem loved golfing, taking trips to Florida and was a familiar face to many Springfield golfers as a marshal at Lincoln Greens Golf Course in retirement. There was no stronger fan for the Chicago Cubs, Chicago Bears and Sacred Heart-Griffin athletics. But far surpassing all of those interests was sharing the smallest of life’s moments for his beloved Marilyn and family and friends.

Clem is preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Mary; granddaughter, Grace Bramlet; brothers, John, James and Andrew; along with sisters, Veronica, Agnes, Mary, Margaret, Dorothy and Dolores. He is survived by his wife, Marilyn of Springfield and daughters, Kim Bramlet and Paula Root of Springfield; his sister, Josephine of St. Louis and grandson, Ross Bramlet of Chicago.
