Charlotte M. Dial

Charlotte M. Dial, 68, of Petersburg, IL died at 2:15 a.m. Sunday, May 13, 2012 at her home, surrounded by her children. She was born on November 24, 1943 in Indiana to James H. and Charlotte Miller Johnson. She married Jackie L. Dial on January 13, 1962 and he preceded her in death on August 14, 1994. Also preceding her in death were her father and one son, Joseph T. Dial.
Surviving are three daughters, Shelley (Bryan) Stott and Sheri (Chris) Gibbs, both of Petersburg and Shannon Dial of Springfield; three sons, James W. (Mary) Dial of Riverton and Jon P. Dial and Justin T. Dial, both of Petersburg; six grandchildren, Jordan (Christina), Shawna, Aaron, Shelby, Maggie and Max; one great granddaughter, Leah; mother, Charlotte Johnson of Petersburg; brother-in-law, Gary (Edie) Dial of St. Elmo; sister-in-law, Janet Bullard of St. Elmo and several nieces and nephews.
Charlotte was a member of Petersburg United Methodist Church. She was a member of a Bunco Club. She enjoyed shopping, gardening and spending time with her family and her dog, Manny.
She retired from St. John’s as a unit clerk after many years of service.
Visitation: 4 – 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at Staab Funeral Home
Funeral Service: 10 a.m, Thursday, May 17, 2012 at Staab Funeral Home with Pastor Don Winters officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or St. John’s Hospice.
