Charlotte A. Bremhorst, 81, of Springfield, formerly of Glenwood, IL, died Friday, March 24, 2017 at her home. She was born February 3, 1936 in Schenectady, NY to Tage and Signe Olson Sonnergren. She married Charles “Rick” Bremhorst in 1958.
Surviving are her husband, Rick; one daughter, Nancy Bremhorst and one son, James (Linda) Bremhorst, both of Springfield and three grandchildren, Kat, Peter and Mel.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Ronald and Dick.
She graduated from the first class of Nurse Practitioners at Purdue University. She was very honored to serve as a home health hospice nurse. Upon retirement, she worked as a hospice nursing coordinator. She was an accomplished pianist and a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church.
Visitation: 5 – 7 pm, Thursday, March 30, 2017 at Staab Funeral Home.
Funeral Service: 10:30 am, Friday, March 31, 2017 at Staab Funeral Home with Reverend Greg Busboom officiating. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.

Jim, Linda and family, I am so sorry for your loss. Charlotte was darling and I am so happy I had the chance to meet her and hang with her at the kids games! It was a joy watching her and talking about family and grandchildren!!! She loved every minute of it. You are all in my prayers.
