Charles William Kelley, 75, of Springfield, died at 2:34am, Saturday, November 20, 2010 at Memorial Medical Center. He was born on December 28, 1934 in Springfield, IL to Arthur and Gladys Ring Kelley. He married Gena M. Turley on June 26, 1954 and she survives. Also surviving are four children Mike (Sande) Kelley, Tom (Carolyn) Kelley, Tim Kelley and Beth (Junaid) Ahmed, all of Springfield, 10 grandchildren; one great-grandchild and several nieces, nephews and cousins; three sisters Laura (Charles) Skeeters of Springfield, Glenda (Steve) Allison of Danville, Ruth Ann (John) McCormick of Springfield; two brothers Arthur Kelley of Riverton and James (Judy) Kelley of Springfield; His parents and several brothers and sisters preceded him in death.
Charles was a member of Elm Street Christian Church where he served as an elder, as well as an avid St. Louis Cardinal fan. Mr. Kelley served in the Army during the Korean Conflict. He was employed by Barker Lubin and Henry Nelch Co and he loved his grandchildren very much.
Visitation: 11am-1pm, Tuesday, November 23, 2010 at Elm Street Christian Church
Funeral: 1pm, Tuesday, November 23, 2010 at Elm Street Christian Church with Paul Cox officiating. Burial will be in Camp Butler National Cemetery where military honors will be conducted.
