Charles Thomas Harris, 82, of New Berlin, passed away on Saturday, June 26, 2021 at 11:34 pm, at St. John’s Hospital.
Charles was born in Decatur on November 6, 1938 to Estill and Ellen (Trammel) Harris, and they preceded him in death. He married Georgia Sattgast on September 5, 1964 and she survives.
He is also survived by a son, Thomas (Shawn) Harris of Harrisburg, NC and daughter, Tammie (John) Nance of Kanapolis, NC, five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Wayne L. Harris.
Charles was employed as a custodian for Springfield School District 186 and formerly worked for Lincoln Land FS. He loved old cars, Nascar, Western movies, John Wayne and Star Trek. He was a United States Army veteran.
Graveside Service: 12 pm, Friday, July 2, 2021 at Camp Butler National Cemetery where military honors will be conducted.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
