Charles R. Masterson, 91, of Springfield, died at 2:35 pm, Monday, May 14, 2018 at Lewis Memorial Christian Village. He was born June 19, 1926 in Huntington, WV, to Harry E. and Pauline Winningham Masterson. He married Carolyn Inyart on September 11, 1970 and she preceded him in death on April 28, 2016.

Survivors include two daughters, Susan Marie Masterson and Barbara Lee (William) England both of Springfield; four grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife and one brother Dwight Masterson.

Charles was a US Navy Veteran serving during World War II. He was a self-employed painter.

Charles was past Commander of Legion of Honor in 1972. He was a 50 year member of ANSAR Shrine and 57 year member of Masonic Lodge #4. He was a member of Painter’s Local #90 since 1949 and was past President of Jesters, Inc.

Visitation: 3-6 pm, Sunday, May 20, 2018 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield.

Funeral Service: 1 pm, Monday, May 21, 2018 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield.

Burial will be at 2 pm, Monday, May 21, 2018 at Camp Butler National Cemetery with military honors. His wife, Carolyn will also be interred along with him at that time.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shriner’s Hospital for Children in St. Louis, MO.
