Charles G. Red Huff Sr., 66, of Pawnee died at 2:43 a.m. Monday, March 31, 2008, at his residence.
He was born Aug. 22, 1941, in Pennington Gap, Va., the son of Hollie and Goldie Redmond Huff. He married Anita Tuebner in 1963; she preceded him in death Jan. 1, 1978. Also preceding him in death were his parents; two brothers, William and Clyde Huff; and a sister, Beatrice Stevens.
Mr. Huff worked for Wagner Casting in Decatur for 10 years and then became manager of the Edinburg IGA before being injured in a car accident in 1978. He enjoyed walking and watching the deer, birds and other animals around his home. He was a resident of the Pawnee area for the past 30 years.
Surviving are two daughters, Darlene Henrikson of Lincoln and Christy Huff of Springfield; a son, Charles G. Huff Jr. of Pawnee; eight grandchildren, Casandra, Cory, Samantha, Shayna, Brice, Soraya, Lily and Ariana; three great-grandchildren, Paige, Trinity and Zoey; three sisters, Barbara Huff of Pawnee, Carol (husband, Harold) Mouser of Riverton and Deanna (husband, Kenny) Patton of Illiopolis; two brothers, James (companion, Irene Henson) and Cleve (wife, Kathy) Huff, both of Argenta; an aunt; an uncle; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until time of services at noon Thursday, April 3, 2008, at Staab Funeral Home, with Vaughn Beeman officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Lung Association.
