Charles Bernard ""Bernie" "Bones"" Welch

Charles B. “Bernie” “Bones” Welch, Jr, 81, passed away at 8:53 am on Friday, November 25, 2016 at his home. He was born to Charles Bernard and Helen Elizabeth (Lee) Welch, Sr. on July 22, 1935 in Springfield.

Survivors include companion, Beckie Heim of Springfield; three children, Robin (Gary) Estes of Springfield, Pennie (Dennis) Bradbury of Glendale, AZ, and Ethan Welch of Springfield; one grandson, Zachary (Kasie) Estes of Springfield; one sister, Mary Jo Welch of Springfield; one brother, Michael L. (Joyce) Welch of Chatham and several nieces and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his parents and one daughter, Michelle L. Welch.

Charles was a United States Navy veteran serving from 1952-1956.

He retired from CWLP Water Department after 22 years of service and previously was the owner of Springfield Shavers Center.

Charles was a life-long member of the Aqua club. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, and playing shuffle board.
