Catherine R. Phelps

Catherine R. Phelps, 88, of Springfield, died at 9:10 am, Thursday, June 30, 2016 at Regency. She was born September 29, 1927 in Springfield to Matthew and Irene Winchester Moore. She married Charles Phelps on January 10, 1970. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Gail Ratliff, one sister, Mary Wahl and granddaughter, Trisha Ratliff.

Surviving are her husband, Charles; son-in-law, David Ratliff of Cantrall, one grandson, Brian Ratliff; four great grandchildren, Melissa, Katlyn, Brady and Mackenzie Ratliff; and one niece, Kathy Bradley of Mt. Pulaski. Catherine was a lifelong resident of Springfield. She graduated from Ursuline Academy and retired from Illinois Bell Telephone Company after 27 years of service. She volunteered at St. John’s Children’s Hospital for many years.

Visitation: 9 – 10 am, Monday, July 4, 2016 at Staab Funeral Home in Springfield.

Funeral Service: 10 am, Monday, July 4, 2016 at Staab Funeral Home in Springfield with Reverend Jim Isaacson officiating.

Graveside Service will be held at 11 am, Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at Camp Butler National Cemetery
