Carol R. Roth, 72, of Springfield, died at 7:35 a.m., Friday, August 19, 2011 at Heritage Manor. She was born on February 18, 1939 in Pawnee, IL, the daughter of George and Marjorie Ruth Rutherford Gilbert. She married Felix I. Roth on January 15, 1960 and he survives.
Also surviving are seven children; Jackie Glasscock and John Gorda of Springfield, Mark (Kim) Roth of Mechanicsburg, Jane Roberts of Chatham, Roxanne (Bill) Smith of Springfield, Robin (Jheri) Roth of Petersburg and Tim (Melinda) Roth of Pawnee; 15 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one brother David (Bootsie) Gilbert of Phoenix, AZ as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents and one daughter-in-law, Karen Gorda.
Carol was a resident of Springfield all her life and a member of Kumler United Methodist Church. She worked in the day care industry.
Visitation: 10:30 am-12:30 pm Tuesday, August 23, 2011 at Staab Funeral Home.
Funeral Service: 12:30 p.m., Tuesday, August 23, 2011 at Staab Funeral Home with Reverend Robin Roth and Pastor Nellie Rhodes officiating. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation.
