Carol A. Crumly, 78, of Springfield, died at 6:50 pm, Sunday, October 20, 2013 at St. John’s Hospice. She was born June 8, 1935 in Springfield, to Myron and Clara Sidener Mizeur. She married Lyle W. Crumly on June 4, 1955 and he survives.
Also Surviving are her children; Karen (Jay) Ehrhard, Kevin (Diane) Crumly, Christine (Greg) Souza, Geraldine Long, Michael Crumly and Scott Crumly; siblings, Patricia (Jim) Klockenkemper, Barbara (Frank) Hutter, Michael (Mary Lou) Mizeur, Leon (Ellen) Mizeur, Thomas (Laura) Mizeur, Mary “Celine” (Stuart) Bentley, John “Don” (Rebecca) Mizeur, Dianne (Bill) Schuerman and David Mizeur; eleven grandchildren, Stephen and Kimberly Ehrhard, David, Erin and Colleen Crumly, Stephanie and Laura Souza, Justin and Jake Long, Hunter and Logan Crumly; thirty-five nieces and twenty-seven nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Myron and Byron “Gene” Mizeur and her son-in-law, Michael Long.
Carol was a member of St. Agnes Church and was a devoted Catholic. She attended St. Joseph’s Grade School and graduated from Ursuline Academy. She was a homemaker and had worked as an Administrative Assistant for State Farm Insurance.
She was devoted to her family, children and grandchildren. She loved going to their sporting events and she enjoyed playing bingo and going to the riverboat casino. Carol made the best fried chicken and potato salad in the world.
Visitation: 4-7 pm, Thursday, October 24, 2013 at Staab Funeral Home with prayers at 4pm.
Funeral Mass: 10:30 am, Friday, October 25, 2013 at St. Agnes Church with Monsignor John Ossola officiating. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
