Bonnie L. Marsaglia

Bonnie L. Marsaglia of Springfield, died Monday, August 15, 2016. She was born to James and Hazel Watson on May 7, 1935. She married the love of her life, John “Jim” Marsaglia on May 5, 1956. They shared 60 happy years together, never being apart too long from one another. They took family vacations but found most comfort and happiness at home with their family and friends.

Bonnie was a homemaker for most of her life. Once all her children were raised, she missed having kids around so she went to work at Gingerbread House Daycare and then retired from Building Blocks Daycare. Over those 20 years she developed many close relationships with the kids and their families.

She loved collecting angels and butterflies and she had received many over the years from her daycare families.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father; brother, Richard; sisters, Connie, Caryl and Laura and her daughter, Deborah Schafer.

Bonnie is survived by her husband Jim; children, Mickey, Patti, Jamie (wife Wendy) and son-in-law Dan Schafer; seven grandchildren, Rianne, Chris, James Jr., Jessica, Cori, Brenton and Kyle; great grandchildren, Blaze, Cayden, Anna, Madilyn, Leah and baby Rylie to be born in September.

Visitation: 5 – 7 pm, Saturday, August 20, 2016 at Staab Funeral Home in Springfield.

Funeral Service: 7:00 pm, Saturday, August 20, 2016 at Staab Funeral Home in Springfield with Rev. John Nelson officiating.
