Betty Sue Patton, 89, of Springfield died at 5:40 a.m. on Sunday, April 14, 2013 at St. John’s Hospice. She was born on April 21, 1923 in Taylorville, IL, the daughter of Leo and Mary Orr Davis. She married Richard Patton in 1949 and he preceded her in death in 1990. Her parents and sister, Pat Denny also preceded her in death.
Betty is survived by one daughter, Mary Vignali of Springfield; three sons Andy (Pat) Patton of Springfield, Tim (Donna) Patton of Forsyth, IL and Mike (fiancé Brenda Robinson) Patton of Williamsville; eight grandchildren Jennifer Stark, Kadie Patton, Joseph, Molly and Emily Vignali, Abby Larson and Ashley and Amber Patton; six great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and two brothers, Lee Davis of California and Larry Davis of Alabama.
Betty has been a resident of Springfield all of her adult life and was employed by the State of Illinois. She is a Veteran of the United States Navy.
Memorial Mass: 10:30 a.m., Thursday, April 18, 2013 at Christ the King Church with Rev. Joseph Ring officiating. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery where military honors will be conducted by the Sangamon County Interveterans Burial Detail.
