Betty R. Rhodes, 84, of Elkhart, passed away at 3:40 pm, Monday, April 18, 2022 at Villa Health Care East. She was born on January 9, 1938 in Springfield, the daughter of Harold and Agnes (Mendenhall) Crain. She married Keith D. Rhodes on January 9, 1959 and he preceded her in death on January 16, 1992.
Also preceding her in death are her parents; three brothers, Raymond, John, and Bill Crain, and one sister, Pat Ashton.
Survivors include her two sons, Bart W. (Laurie) Rhodes of Williamsville and Mark A. Rhodes of Sherman; six grandchildren, Jessica (Dexter) Cheever, Evan (Kris) Johnston, Max (Alexis) Rhodes, Rachel (Dalton) Rockford, Anna Rhodes, and Bridget Rhodes; seven great grandchildren, Cohen, Beckett, Lachlan Cheever, Mackenzie, Maddox, and Davis Johnston, and Theodore Rhodes; one sister, Hazel Sokolis of Springfield; one sister in law, Carol Grove of Springfield, and several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
Betty retired from Federated Funeral Directors of America after 30 years of service.
She has been a resident of Elkhart since 1960 and was a member of Elkhart Christian Church. Betty lived her life for her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
