Betty Joan Blissett, 81, of Riverton, IL, passed away at home on Saturday, May 6, 2017. She was born on February 20, 1936, in Springfield, to Sam and Lula (Clauser) Hackwith and they preceded her in death. She married Edward Blissett on September 29, 1956, and he survives.
She is survived by her children, Kim (Don) Kliment of Williamsville; Laura (Steve) Baker of Riverton, and Ed (Rhonda) Blissett of Springfield; eight grandchildren: Brad (Chrissy) Szoke, Aimee (Lyle) Craft, Corey (Alea) Baker, Donald (fiancé Selma Delic) Kliment, Elizabeth, Emily and Daniel Blissett, and Courtney (Ben) Haworth; 6 great-grandchildren; one sister, Hazel Blissett of Springfield, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Betty was employed by St. Francis Motherhouse and Boss Manufacturing, from where she retired. She loved playing Bunco, cards and spending time with her grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents and three sisters: Dorothy, Ida and Jean.
Graveside Service: In honor of Betty’s wishes, there will be no visitation. A graveside service only will be held on Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at 11 am, at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
