Betty Jane Nyilas McGann, 95, of Springfield, died at 3:15 pm, Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at her home. She was born December 22, 1921 in Springfield, to Louis L. and Marie Gaffigan Schantz. She married Albert Nyilas in 1942 and he preceded her in death in 1975.
Survivors include one daughter, Dianne M. Cycholl of Springfield; son-in-law, David Bourland of Springfield; four grandchildren, Douglas (Carie) Cycholl, Kimberly (John) Bartello, Tiffany Power and Amy Mizeur all of Springfield; four great grandchildren, Bri Bartello, Levi and Luke Cycholl and Carter Mizeur; two nephews, Mark Schantz and Brad (Mary) Schantz both of Springfield.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Sharon Bourland and two brothers, Lou and Bob Schantz.
Betty was a member of St. Agnes Church. She retired after thirty years of service for Illinois Bell Telephone Company.
Visitation: 9-10 am, Friday, October 13, 2017 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield.
Funeral Service: 10 am, Friday, October 13, 2017 at Staab Funeral Home- Springfield with Monsignor David Lantz officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.

I love you grandma. I miss our talks everyday. You were my rock. Losing you and mom has been devastating. I love you grandma I know you were tired and sad about mom.
