Betty J Vrooman

Betty J. Vrooman, 87, of Springfield, died at 9:05 am, Thursday, February 16, 2017, Memorial Medical Center. She was born October 13, 1929 in Springfield, to Paul and Margaret Pocock Williamson. She married Bernard J. Morrison in 1951 and he died in 1954, she later married John E. Vrooman in 1959 and he preceded her in death in 1989.

Survivors include one sister, Dorothy (Raymond) Duewer of Waverly; three nieces, Catherine (Roger) Ward, Patricia (Jim) Whalen and Carol (Doug) Conrady; one nephew, Richard (Teri) Duewer and 10 great nieces and great nephews; 3 great great niece and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands and one brother Rayburn Williamson in 2016.

Betty was a member of Cathedral Church of St. Paul and Pilot Club of Springfield. She retired in 1995 as controller for Springfield School District 186 after 27 years of service.

Memorial Service: The family will host a Memorial Service at 1 pm, Saturday, February 25, 2017 at Cathedral Church of St. Paul.
