Betty J. Freeman 79, of Springfield, died at 9:15 pm, Monday, November 29, 2010, at St. John’s Hospital. Betty was born April 12, 1931 in Browning, IL the daughter of Arthur C. and Louise E. Dosier Davis. She first married Charles E. Wright then later married Frederick Eugene Freeman on May 18, 1977. He preceded her in death in 1989. Also preceding her in death were her parents, one sister, Linda Thomas and two nephews.
Betty is survived by three daughters, Marlene (Gary) Jennings of Springfield, Ellen Vennebush of Louisiana, and Vicky (companion, Steve Boastick) Bertok of Springfield; one son, Danny Wright of Springfield;15 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren; one sister, Ina (Bud) Willis of Table Grove, IL ; two brothers, Gene (Pat) Davis of Devalls Bluff, AR and Stanley Davis of Champaign, IL; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Betty attended Real Life Church, enjoyed working word search puzzles, watching animals, and spending time with her family. She also enjoyed listening to music and shopping. She had previously worked as a waitress, ran a daycare and then was a homemaker.
