Betty J. Brown

Betty J. Brown, 77, of Ashland, died at 11:50 pm, Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at her home. She was born July 19, 1939 in Springfield, to Herschel and Eleanor Cass, Sr. She married Robert D. Brown, Sr. on February 12, 1961 and he preceded her in death on April 22, 2011.

Survivors include three daughters, Patricia (Walter) Johnson and Cheryl (Mike) Huff both of Ashland and Carrie Klauzer (Fiancé, Jim Sullivan) of Springfield; four sons, Robert D. Brown, Jr. of Taylorville, Patrick (Janet) Brown and Jeff (Heather) Brown both of Springfield and Kevin (Linda) Brown of Ashland; several grandchildren and Great grandchildren; one sister, Barbara Sage of Tallula; three brothers, Jack (Toni) Cass of MO, Jimmy (Marsha) Cass of Springfield and John (Barb) Cass of Hillsboro and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; one sister, Donna Wolford; three brothers, Bill, Herschel, Jr. and Donnie Cass; one granddaughter, Jessica Black and two grandsons, Billy Jo and Joshua Johnson.

Betty was a homemaker. She loved Elvis and enjoyed spending time with her family.

Visitation: 5-7 pm, Monday, February 13, 2017 at Staab Funeral Home-Springfield.

Funeral Service: 10 am, Tuesday, February 14, 2017 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield, with Vaughn Beeman officiating. Burial will follow at Mechanicsburg Cemetery.
