Betty J. Claycomb Williams, 82, of Springfield, died at 3:35 a.m. on Thursday, December 12, 2013 at Memorial Medical Center. She was born December 28, 1930 in Atwood, IL to Berton D. and Grace E. Utterbach Foster. She married Paul Claycomb and he preceded her in death on December 22, 1970. She later married Harold “Dean” Williams and he preceded her in death on March 24, 2002.
She is also preceded in death by one brother: Robert Foster, 2 grandsons: Jeremy and Joshua Stockton; son-in-law: Thomas Fuchs; sister-in-law Betty Foster and brother-in-law Arthur Freeman.
Survivors include four daughters: Cynthia Fuchs of Springfield, Penny (Fred) Stockton of Jacksonville, Linda “Rojean” Claycomb and Andrea (Michael) Nutt; one step daughter: Deborah Torres; two sons: Paul (Joanne) and Mark Bane Claycomb all of Springfield; 15 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; two sisters: Donna Freeman and Carol (Allen) Lane both of Springfield and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Betty loved her family and spending time in her yard. She enjoyed life to the fullest.
Visitation: 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 17, 2013 at Staab Funeral Home.
Funeral Service: 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 17, 2013 at Staab Funeral Home with Vaughn Beeman officiating. Burial will be at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
