Barbara S. Verardi, 66, of Springfield, died Friday, July 22, 2011 at home surrounded by family, after a courageous two-year battle with cancer.
She was born August 9, 1944 in Springfield to Betty and Emmitt Ray Suter. She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters; Donna Ferguson and Patricia Howlett.

Barb worked at Royal Business Forms until 1991, when she and two of her brothers opened Rockin Robin nightclub. Although it was only Barb, Mike and Randy, and later just Barb and Randy who owned the club, it was definitely a family operation. A number of family members worked there over the 20 years that the club operated. Many long-time customers and other employees became like family. At Rockin Robin, Barb met many lifelong friends.

Surviving are her daughter Debbie (Jim) Manuele of Edmond, OK; six grandchildren Robert (Sharon) Verardi of Springfield, Tony (Chrissy), Jamie and Jimmy Manuele all of Oklahoma, Danny and Samantha Suter of Cantrall; five great-grandchildren Kaylie and Kaleb Verardi of Springfield, Michael, Matthew and Jenna Manuele of Oklahoma; one sister Marilyn Hickey of Loami; four brothers Mike Suter of Springfield, Dan (Margaret) Suter of Cantrall, Jeff (Pam) Phillips of Atlanta and Randy (Michelle) Phillips of Sherman; 20 nieces and nephews; several great nieces and nephews and several great-great nieces and nephews.

Visitation: Family will receive friends from 5-7 pm, Monday, July 25, 2011 at Staab Funeral Home.

Funeral Service: 10 am, Tuesday, July 26, 2011 at Staab Funeral Home with Pastor Lloyd Bradshaw officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
