Arendol H. "Dick" Dickerson

November 5, 1938 - November 10, 2014

Arendol H. “Dick” Dickerson, Sr., 76 of Springfield, flew to his heavenly abode, Monday night, November 10, 2014 at Memorial Medical Center.

Dick was born in Aracoma, WV on November 5, 1938 to James and Molly Dickerson.  They preceded him in death as did his wife, Liz and his brother, James.

He is survived by two daughters, Cynthia “Cindy” (Fiancé Damien Ruddy) Dickerson and Jennifer Dickerson; two sons, Sean Dickerson and Arendol H. Dickerson, Jr.; three grandsons, Keith, Kraig and Arendol Dickerson III, and by his special Angel, Nancy Flood.

Dick served his country in the US Air Force as an Air Policeman.  He also served on the Springfield Police Department for 18 years retiring as a Sergeant.

He was a member of the Baha’i Faith.  Dick enjoyed playing cards, especially spades, was an avid L.A. Dodgers fan, liked listening to music and spending time with his dogs and cats.

Visitation:  10 am – 12 pm, Monday, November 17, 2014 at Staab Funeral Home.

Funeral Service:   12 pm, Monday, November 17, 2014  at Staab Funeral Home with the Springfield Baha’i Community officiating.  Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery, where the Air Force will conduct military honors.
