Anthony R. “Tony” Tranquilli, 79, of Riverton, died at 9:58 pm, Wednesday, June 7, 2017. He was born December 4, 1937 in Springfield, to Eugene and Bernice Theodor Tranquilli. He married Iris Brewer on August 2, 1969 and she survives.
Also surviving are one daughter Angela Tranquilli of Riverton; one son, Kevin Tranquilli of Riverton; two grandchildren, Nicholas Anthony and Olivia Rose; one aunt, Barbara Heckman; sister-in-law, Christina Brewer; three nephews and many cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; step-mother, Clara Zaubi; one brother, Eugene Tranquilli, Jr.; brother-in-law, Michael Brewer and aunt, Emily Fullenwider.
Tony was a US Air force Veteran serving from 1960 – 1964. He was a member of St. James Catholic Church. He retired on December 31, 1999 from the State Police were he worked as a communication radio technician.
He enjoyed vegetable gardening; animals and spending time with his grandchildren and family.
Visitation: 9 – 11 am, Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at St. James Church in Riverton.
Funeral Mass: 11 am, Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at St. James Church in Riverton with Reverend Raphael Paul de Moreno officiating. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery where Military Honors will be conducted.
Memorial contributions may be made to Riverton Community Food Pantry or Springfield Right to Life.

Very sorry Kevin to hear about your father. I didn't know him real well, but the little time I was around him, I knew he was a wonderful man. I know you'll miss him for a long time. But you were very fortunate to have him as your father.
