Anne L. Baldridge
SPRINGFIELD – Anne Lynette Baldridge was born at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Tampa, Fla., to Dale R. and Lucille Greer Baldridge, on June 6, 1958. She was dedicated to the Lord at the age of eight weeks old at the Westside Church of the Nazarene in Decatur.
Anne went to Heaven to be with her mother and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Saturday, Dec. 1, 2007.
She attended kindergarten in Decatur prior to her family moving to Springfield. Anne graduated in 1976 from Springfield High School, where she played four years of ladies varsity basketball. She attended Olivet Nazarene College, majoring in English as well as business administration and played one year of ladies basketball.
Anne was very musically talented, learning to play the piano with her mother as her teacher. Anne learned to play the string bass in the seventh grade and later learned to play the guitar and electric bass. Anne was a sincere string instructor, as well as playing in many municipal opera productions in Springfield. She really enjoyed playing stringed instruments in church!
Anne was employed by several state agencies for 23 years. She made many great friends through her various positions! Anne’s most important contribution of all was her walk with the Lord and the many lives she touched on her journey. As her dad, I can attest to her wonderful winning way with her co-workers.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2007, at Staab Funeral Home. There will be a lie-in-state from 9 to 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2007, at First Church of the Nazarene.
