Anna Mae Goss, 88 of Springfield, died at 9:47 a.m., Friday, December 24, 2010 at Memorial Medical Center. She was born August 10, 1922 in Dysart, IA to Henry F. ‘Charlie’ and Lillian Cantwell Harmon. She married William A. Goss on July 23, 1945 at Blessed Sacrament Church in Springfield and he survives. Also, surviving are one daughter, Julie Ann Kunz of Springfield; two grandchildren, Kara (Steve) Gray and Scott (Claudia) Kunz; four great-grandchildren, Cassie and Claire Gray and Caleb and Dominic Kunz. Her parents preceded her in death.
Anna Mae was a Charter member of Christ the King Catholic Church. She was a member of the Springfield Art Association, King’s Daughters Willing Circle and the Illinois Symphony Guild. She was the Society Editor for Illinois State Journal for 11 years. She also worked for the Legislative Council for 27 years.
Memorial Mass: 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at Christ the King Catholic Church with Monsignor David Lantz officiating. A luncheon will follow at Christ the King Parish Hall. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery at a later date.
