SPRINGFIELD – Anna Lou Franklin, 80, of Springfield died at 9:55 p.m. Friday, Jan. 9, 2009, at her residence.
She was born Sept. 2, 1928, in Springfield, the daughter of Martin and Katherine Schrader Rapp Sr.
She was preceded in death by her mother; father; stepfather, Steven Billet; ex-husband, William Franklin; two daughters, Ellabeth and Susan Franklin; two sons, Jonathan and Robert Franklin; and two brothers, William Saner and Leslie Franklin Rapp
She is survived by four daughters, Kathryn Wright, Penny Burrell, Evalin Boblitt and Melissa Middleton, all of Springfield; five sons,
Steve of Taylorville, Bill of Yelm, Wash., James of Springfield, Arvil of West Blocton, Ala. and Larry of Springfield; 43 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; a brother Martin David Rapp of Springfield; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Anna was a lifelong resident of Springfield.
She was a homemaker. She also worked at SS Kresge, Kmart, Roy Conn’s and Goodwill.
A memorial gathering will begin at noon Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2009, at the Navy Club, 3100 Stanton St., Springfield. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 15, 2009, at Roselawn Memorial Park
