Anna Corrine Rice, 89, of Springfield, died at 3:45 pm, Sunday, March 11, 2012 at Heritage Manor. She was born September 17, 1922 in Petersburg, Illinois to William Weaver and Anna Rhodes Weatherby. She married Joseph Robert Emmett on February 28, 1947 and he preceded her in death on August 22, 1982. She married Robert Hitch Rice on April 16, 1983 and he preceded her in death on February 18, 1996. One brother, W. Ernest Weatherby and two sisters, Norma Lenz and Ruth Simmering also preceded her in death.
Survivors include one son, Joseph Terry (Jan) Emmett of Springfield; one step-daughter Joann Simmering of Greenview; four grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Corrine was a member of Third Presbyterian Church. She loved painting, crafting and working with her hands. Mrs. Rice retired in October of 1984, after 25 years of service, from Pillsbury Mills where she worked as an accountant.
Visitation: 10-11 am, Wednesday, March 14, 2012 at Staab Funeral Home.
Graveside Service: 12 noon, Wednesday, March 14, 2012 at Farmers Point Cemetery with Pastor Brent Mitchell officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to Third Presbyterian Church.

Oh the memories I have of all the good times we had. Fishing in MI, the beach is FL, picking gooseberries, holidays far to may to list them all. You will be miss. You are now is heaven with the rest of our family.
