RIVERTON – Ann Frances Gantt, 68, of Riverton died at 8:55 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 8, 2009, at Memorial Medical Center.
She was born June 10, 1941, in Rockford, the daughter of Walter and Mary Bolger Johnson. She married Richard Gantt on Dec. 29, 1987.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Wally Johnson
She is survived by her husband, Richard Gantt of Riverton; a daughter, Lori (Mike) Downing of Mechanicsburg; two sons, Mike (Sherri) Zara of Riverton and Brad (Julie) Zara of Sherman; and a stepson, Rick (Pam) Gantt of Springfield; nine grandchildren, Megan, Nicki, Garrett, Adam, Hannah, Zoey, Emily, Trenton, and Claire; two sisters, Peggy (Dick) Burgert of Rockford and Mary (Bernie) Griffin of Springfield; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Ann was a resident of Riverton for most of her life. She worked as a secretary for Riverton Middle School for 20 years, retiring in 1996.
She was a graduate of Ursuline Academy. She was a volunteer at Memorial Medical Center in the pastoral care department. She liked flower gardening, knitting, arts and crafts and watching and feeding her hummingbirds. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends
A memorial gathering will be held from 3 p.m. until the time of the memorial service at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2009, at Living Water Church, with Dr. Robert Armstrong, pastor, officiating.
