Angeline F. Palazzolo
SPRINGFIELD – Angeline F. Palazzolo, 85, of Springfield died at 2:15 a.m., Friday, June 22, 2007 at St. John’s Hospice.
She was born on July 12, 1921 in Springfield, the son of Vito and Frances Bascio LaCamera. She married Paul V. Palazzolo on June 16, 1946, and he preceded her in death on October 18, 1978. She was also preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Michael and Pete LaCamera.
Angie was a bookkeeper at Bridge Jewelry Company and formerly worked in the same capacity at the State House Inn. She and her husband owned and operated several restaurants, including Coutrakons’s/ Palazzolo’s in Springfield and the Colonial in Lincoln. Angie was a member of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, Cathedral Council of Catholic Women, and Kiwanis Club of Springfield-Golden K, where she served as past secretary.
She is survived by two sons, Dominic P. (wife, Lisa) and Paul (wife, Suanne) Palazzolo; four grandchildren, Steven, Nicole, Maria, and Anthony Palazzolo, all of Springfield; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 p.m., Sunday, June 24, 2007 at Staab Funeral Home. Prayers will be held at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 a.m., Monday, June 25, 2007 at Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception with Reverend Michael Haag officiating. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are requested to the Kiwanis Club of Springfield Downtown to fund an accessible playground at Southwind Park.
