SPRINGFIELD – Almona J. Farmer, 83, of Springfield, IL died at Maple Ridge Care Centre in Lincoln, IL at 8:05 a.m. Thursday, May 13, 2010.
She was born on July 18, 1926, in Woodriver, IL, the daughter of Alfred and Blanche Rhodes Springer. She married Loyce L. Farmer on May 28, 1945; and he preceded her in death on September 11, 2004.
Also preceding her in death were her parents.
Surviving are 3 sons, Stephen (Candy) Farmer of Fancy Prairie, Keith Farmer of Chatham, IL and David Farmer of Springfield; 4 grandchildren, Jason Farmer, Amy (William) Hazelwood, Lizabeth Farmer and Amanda Minnillo; 1 sister, Bernadine (Gene) Bolo of St. Clairesville, OH.
She was a member of Laurel United Methodist Church, DAR, and she enjoyed gardening, reading, antiquing and the mountains of Colorado.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 18, 2010, at Camp Butler National Cemetery, with Dr. John Hamilton officiating.
